Parks & Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department plans and directs year round recreational programs and operations.  The Director of Parks and Recreation supervise an extensive seasonal staff in coordinating the many activities planned and related to recreation fields, courts, buildings, pool, marina and related facilities.

Upcoming Special Events, Dates and Discounts


New Resident Park Passes


Please call the Parks and Recreation office (313.343.5257) to find out what documentation you will need to provide when applying for your park pass.   

The Parks and Recreation office is located in Neff Park. Currently, there is someone available in the office to make passes from 6am to 8pm, 7 days a week.


Neff Park Pool  -  Open Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day

The pool is now OPEN for the season.

Walk-In, Online and Mail-In Lesson Registration NOW OPEN

Online registration for swim and tennis lessons began Monday, May 14.  When registering online, you may register for any or all of the three sessions we offer throughout the summer.  Please enroll your child in the same level for all sessions, and changes will be made as necessary in the office across the course of the summer.


Walk-in registration is open June 11 through June 15 for Session 1. Session 1 begins June 18 and runs through June 29. The Parks and Recreation Office is open from 6am until 8pm for walk-in registration. Cash or check only for walk-in registration. 

Please use the email you provided to us on your emergency response form as your login.  If you are new to the site, enter your email and press "Forgot Password" to have a randomly generated, temporary password sent to you.  Upon logging in, you can change your password to whatever you wish.  The site for online registration can be found by clicking HERE

City of Grosse Pointe Synchronized Swimming Team

Swimmers who have passed Level 5 swimming lessons and can tread water for two minutes are invited to join the synchronized swimming team! Our kickoff meeting is Friday, June 15 at 3:00pm. Please feel free to come, ask questions and meet the coaches. Registration forms will be available.

 Practices will be 3:00 – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The cost is $55 per participant

 

ALL-POINTES Outdoor Movie- Made possible by St. John Providence

This summer's All-Pointes Outdoor Movie will be held at Patterson Park in Grosse Pointe Park.  Family Outdoor Movie Night is open to residents of all five Grosse Pointes, with Patterson Park opening at 5:30 p.m. for non-residents. There will be a bounce house available prior to the start of the movie! Parks passes are required and will be checked at the entrance.  This year's movie is Hook.

Thursday, June 21 at 7:00pm.
Gates open beginning at 5:30pm for non-GPP residents


Michigan Parks and Recreation Association's Grand Experience at The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island

The Grand Experience is a unique, all inclusive program, for individuals that are 50 or better in age.  This program is a result of a long lasting partnership between the Michigan Parks and Recreation Association (MParks) and the Grand Hotel.  It comes complete with five course dinners, a wide variety of unique programs and activities such as golf, tournaments, crafts, dancing and carriage tours that make your stay at this world class destination a truly                    Grand Experience

Neff Park Marina  -  Open April 1 - November 1

All boats must be out of the Harbor by November 1st.  Annual renewals with the minimum deposit of 50% is due November 1st with the remaining balance due on or before February 1st.  All wells that do not receive the required deposit by the deadline will receive a $5 late fee for every week that the deposit is not paid.  All wells not paid for in full by February 1st will be forfeited and offered to residents on the waiting list.

Grosse Pointe Boat Club

Grosse Pointe Boat Club Membership Application - Interested in boating?  Join the Grosse Pointe Boat Club.  Headquartered in the "littlest" Club at Neff Park, the club promotes boating and water safety, enjoyment and seamanship, while providing sociability and fellowship among is members.  Boat ownership is not required.  if you have questions, please visit www.grossepointeboatclub.com.

 

2017 - 2018 Platform Tennis 


First Day for Platform Tennis Membership Reservations will be October 2nd, 2017.  Reservations will be taken for play daily through April 30.  Members may use the courts from 8AM to 10PM.  Courts may be utilized by members without reservations on a first come, first serve basis during open play times.  Membership applications and information available for the 2017 - 2018 Season, Click Here

The City of Grosse Pointe Park will not be opening up use of their movie theater to the other Pointes as in the past.  It will remain open to Grosse Pointe Park residents and their guests only.

Neff Park Ice Rink and Warming Room - OPEN

 

The Ice Rink and Warming Room are currently OPEN


Weather pending, the Ice Rink and Warming Room are open everyday 12:00/Noon until 7:00pm.  

Join us for a warming fire catered with hot chocolate and s'mores every Saturday that the Ice Rink is open.


This winter we will continue to collect used ice skates to have available for Residents in the Neff Park Warming Room.  All sizes and types in good condition will be accepted. Please bring your skates to the Neff Park Office

The All Pointes Daddy Daughter Dance will take place on Saturday March 10 at 6:30pm in the Grosse Pointe South's Main Gym.  Registration opens February 1, 2018 with a cost of $8 per person.  Registration includes a single stem rose, appetizers, refreshments and dancing. 

The registration deadline is Sunday, March 4 at 11:59PM.
